Louvre-Lens

A row of former miners' cottages across from the Louvre-Lens satellite museum, converted into a boutique hotel without sanding away the industrial rough edges. Exposed brick and basalt sit alongside soft carpets, a pewter bar, and floors made from old railway sleepers. The restaurant updates northern French regional cooking in the same spirit. A genuinely unlikely address for a hotel this considered, in a town rewriting what people expect of it.
