Philippe Starck turned a former parking garage in the 20th into a hotel that feels like it was designed by a mischievous philosopher, which, partly, it was. Bare concrete gets offset by superhero-mask reading lamps and iMac-as-TV setups in rooms zoned as residences rather than hotel stays. You're deep past Père Lachaise, several minutes from the Metro, which concentrates your evenings around the bar and restaurant, both of which hold up.
