The coffee-colored carpet and quiet room in Woodley Park don't exactly scream destination dinner, but this New American restaurant has been around forever and cooks with a confidence that doesn't need to announce itself. The menu roams widely, from fried oysters with pickled cauliflower to rack of lamb with salsa verde, and pulls it off without breaking a sweat. A grown-up room for people who'd rather eat well than be seen doing it.
