Low ceilings, exposed beams, and a family that's been working this 17th-century building for three generations make Next Door feel like it earned its charm the slow way. These days it's a cosy contemporary British restaurant run by a husband-and-wife team, he in the kitchen and she managing the wine. The beef comes from the family butcher two doors down, which is either very convenient or very good planning, probably both.
