Seagulls and port smells are free; the Michelin-starred dining room upstairs costs more. Peix & Brases runs two floors with two personalities: a ground-floor gastro-bar doing what the menu calls Mediterrasian, and a formal dining room above it with tasting menus and a terrace overlooking Dénia's harbor. The rice dishes are the thing to anchor a visit around, the local ingredients doing the arguing that tradition and modernity aren't actually opposites.
