Next door to Tata Castle, in an old Esterházy family palace, this boutique hotel earns its Michelin Key by threading antique bones through a very contemporary needle. Designer Zoltán Varró gave every room its own texture, the moss-patterned carpet of the Hunter's Room reappearing as a thread through the whole property. The Mirror Spa sits by the old castle moat, its reflective exterior giving way to warm wood inside. Less than an hour from Budapest.
