Modern British
Tucked down a passageway just off the High Street, this quietly confident little restaurant has made itself part of Melrose's furniture. The cooking is Modern British with a strong Scottish accent, letting the produce do the talking: North Sea fish, Orkney crab and scallops, ingredients sourced from local estates. Nothing showy, just good things handled well in one of the more handsome towns in the Borders.
