Rogan & Co

A stone cottage beside a stream in the middle of Cartmel, all dark beams and open fires. This is the more casual sibling to Simon Rogan's L'Enclume, which holds a Michelin star of its own, and the kitchen leans on produce grown at Rogan's farm in the Cartmel Valley. The food is clean and unfussy, which in this context is a deliberate choice rather than an accident. Worth noting: it's the kind of room that makes you want to stay for another round.
