A landmark restaurant on Dornbirn's Marktplatz, the Rotes Haus has been around forever and the bones show it, with five historical rooms spread across a Rhine Valley building that survived the renovators with its character intact. The menu runs Austrian with a Mediterranean lean, so Wiener schnitzel shares space with pickled char in rhubarb-wild garlic vinaigrette. The parasol-shaded terrace is the place to be when the square is doing its thing.
