Actual Cambodian village houses, some fifty years old, dismantled from across the countryside and rebuilt here in Siem Reap's gardens: that's what Sala Lodges is selling, and the pitch holds up. The structures are genuine Khmer vernacular, raised on stilts in the traditional way, though the insides have been quietly upgraded to rain showers and air conditioning. A Michelin Key property, it sits a short drive from Angkor, with an infinity pool, a Khmer restaurant, and lush grounds doing the rest.
