    A stone pub in a pretty market town where three low-ceilinged dining rooms go by "snugs," which turns out to be exactly right. The menu leans into the Dales, with lamb and other local ingredients shifting by season, and the kitchen's approach is confident and unfussy rather than showy. Two country-chic bedrooms upstairs mean you can commit to a second round without worrying about the drive home.
