    Colonial-style buildings fan out around a lagoon pool and lily-pad ponds on the quiet northern edge of Siem Reap, about ten minutes from Angkor Wat. This full-scale resort has 238 rooms, an 18-hole golf course nearby, a spa, and a candlelit French restaurant called Mouhot's Dream that nods to the explorer who put the ruins on the map. The crowd tends to arrive with a temple itinerary in hand and leave wondering why they didn't stay longer.
