This luxury hotel parks you steps from Lake Wakatipu with the Remarkables as a backdrop, then spends considerable energy making you forget the outdoors exist. The L'Occitane spa, the red-velvet gin bar stocked with Central Otago distillers, and a restaurant running French technique on New Zealand produce complete the case for staying in.
