Solar das Tilias

Grandfather clocks in the hallway, portraits crowding the walls, a fireplace in the ochre sitting room: Solar das Tilias is a centuries-old Serra da Estrela manor house that has simply never bothered to modernize. Rooms come with Persian rugs, original wooden floors, and bathrooms in deep green ceramic with brass fittings. The Queen Saint Suite has a four-poster under blue damask and painted plasterwork ceilings. Breakfast arrives beneath a crystal chandelier.
