The Bell
British
Top hats serve as lampshades and tubas apparently live in the bathrooms, which tells you most of what you need to know about this old coaching inn in a very pretty East Sussex village. It's a proper pub with traditional British cooking, bold flavors, and sourdough pizza from the outdoor Smithy Kitchen when the weather cooperates. The wine list runs to jeroboams and imperials, which feels appropriately unhinged for a place this charming.
