    A Victorian mansion with the good sense not to take itself seriously, The Bird is a 29-room boutique hotel where bold prints, animal imagery, and a cheerful collision of modern and antique fill rooms named by size from Dinky on up. Bath Rugby's stadium is a short walk away, and the terrace fills up nicely on match days. The Michelin Guide has it among its selected hotels, which feels about right for a place doing its level best to be the anti-Bath hotel in Bath.
