A riverside pub-restaurant on the Wyre that has quietly grown into its own small empire, with a deli, farm shop, art gallery, and boutique rooms attached. The cooking is the unpretentious kind: French onion soup, tarte Tatin, comfort food done with conviction. There's also a menu section called "Premeditated Gluttony" for fruits de mer and lobster thermidor, which is either self-aware or honest, possibly both.
