    A pillow menu and a Bose home theater, just steps from a Sri Lankan beach: The Fortress makes its priorities clear. This boutique-ish resort near the old Dutch colonial town of Galle runs to about fifty rooms dressed in a striking retro-modernist style, with a full-service spa, yoga pavilion, and several dining options covering everything from local Sri Lankan cooking to wood-fired pizza. It's selected in the Michelin Guide.
