A former Dutch telecommunications office in leafy Menteng is not the obvious canvas for a hotel, yet the Art Deco bones do most of the work. The coffered lobby ceilings and Carrera marble floors feel palatial, while rooms upstairs are sleek and quiet rather than period-piece. The rooftop bar beside the infinity pool is where the city earns its keep at sundown, with whitewashed wood that forgets Jakarta is technically a colonial Dutch port.
