It's a proper village pub in a stone hamlet outside Oxford, serving modern British food alongside the kind of classics that remind you why pub food has devoted followers. In summer the tiered garden does a lot of work. The kitchen leans on good ingredients and leaves them largely alone, which turns out to be a reasonable philosophy.
