Make the right one and you're in a dimly lit basement cocktail bar where stacked crates form the booths and rough wooden planks pass for seating. It reads less shabby-chic and more genuinely cobbled-together, which suits the bottled cocktails and serious spirits on offer. Hackney locals who know where the door is fill the place without much fuss.
