    The circular lobby sets the tone: high ceilings, a nod to old colonial grandeur, and just enough contemporary polish to remind you Marriott's Autograph Collection had its hand in the renovation. This heritage hotel in the heart of KL has been around forever, and the Reading Room, with its deep colors and plush upholstery, suggests it peaked sometime when afternoon tea was non-negotiable. A handsome place to stay if you want history with your thread count.
