The Oitavos

Twenty minutes from Lisbon on a four-hundred-acre coastal estate, this minimalist resort earns its reputation by doing very little to its interiors, letting floor-to-ceiling windows do the work instead. All 142 rooms start large by any reasonable standard, and the balcony on the top suite runs bigger than most Manhattan hotel rooms. Golf course, equestrian center, seawater pools, and a full spa fill out the grounds without feeling bolted on.
