The Reindeer
British
A village pub down a narrow country lane in Nottinghamshire, with a view over the local cricket pitch that does a lot of the decorating. The cooking is resolutely traditional, bangers and mash and Sunday roasts done with care, plus a weekly pie night whose fillings change to keep regulars guessing. The Michelin Guide awarded it a Bib Gourmand, which feels about right for a place this unfussy and this good at the basics.
