    The circular Coliseum pool, reportedly one of the largest of its kind anywhere, overlooks the Pacific and sets the tone for this sprawling Italian-inspired coastal resort in Newport Beach. Bungalows and villas lean into the Tuscan-village fantasy without tipping into theme-park territory, and Tom Fazio designed the two golf courses. A Forbes Five Star resort, through and through.
