The live-fire kitchen and on-site garden are doing a lot of the talking at this Californian restaurant set in a restored roadhouse that's been around forever, now reimagined under the Auberge Collection. Shared plates lean into whatever the garden is offering, with wood-fired sides and open-flame cooking giving everything a pleasant smokiness. The room feels simultaneously like somewhere your grandfather drank and somewhere your architect friend chose for dinner.
