Four former cottages knocked into one give this Cambridgeshire pub more beams, nooks, and inglenook fireplaces than seems strictly fair. The menu runs from proper pub classics to more inventive territory, and the kitchen handles both without apology. On a warm day the terrace does most of the talking. The Michelin Guide has handed it a Bib Gourmand, which tracks for a place where the cooking is careful without being precious.
