The Woolpack Inn
Modern British
A market garden out back feeds the kitchen, which tells you most of what you need to know about this Hampshire countryside inn. The cooking is seasonal and unfussy, the kind where restraint does the work, and the menu runs toward game when the season allows. Rooms upstairs are named after said game birds, which is either charming or on the nose depending on your mood. A proper country pub that takes the food seriously without making you feel bad about your boots.
