An old mill house on twelve acres of Suffolk countryside, converted into a boutique hotel where the original timber frames do most of the heavy lifting, decor-wise. Rooms in the historic structure get freestanding tubs under ancient beams; the newer outbuildings run toward clean Italian furnishings in a more quietly contemporary mood. The restaurant, serving modern British cooking from local produce, is what most guests are really here for.
