From a distance it reads as a classic Alpine lodge; up close, the balconies are carved into organic wood forms that have no business being this good-looking. This Arosa ski hotel holds 2 Michelin Keys and runs on geothermal heating and an "ice battery," yet the rooms lean into parquet floors, down duvets, and, unexpectedly, in-room record players. Dinner covers melted cheese and vegan fare with a Middle Eastern thread running through it, which is a more interesting menu than most mountains offer.
