1. Villa Agrippina Gran Meliá

    A luxury resort in Rome that actually lets you slow down, which is not something the city usually allows. The gardens, big pool, and spa give you somewhere to decompress between Pantheon visits, while a converted church does duty as a cocktail bar, which is very Rome. It sits right on the Trastevere edge with the Vatican a short walk away. Decent-sized suites, alfresco dining under olive trees, the whole thing.
