A steep climb up Via San Vigilio drops you at one of the grander hillside villas above Bergamo's old city, where the garden terrace hangs over the valley like an interrupted sentence. Inside, stuccoed walls, mirrors, and frescoes set the scene for Enrico Bartolini's creative program, which unfolds in courses that occasionally arrive in multiple acts. A two-star Michelin fine dining room where the occasion and the setting do a lot of the talking, and the kitchen keeps up.
