The only hotel inside Mdina's walled Silent City, this converted palazzo sits above the Maltese countryside with views that make the drive up the hill feel obvious in retrospect. Stone corridors, a fine-dining terrace restaurant, and a trattoria downstairs keep you from having to leave, which is convenient given that not much else is open after dark in a city with almost no permanent residents.
