A 17th-century country house outside Bakio that went from blacksmith's forge to maize mill before anyone thought to put tables in it. The old wood-fired ovens are still here, one repurposed as a counter, one heating the dining room. It's a traditional restaurant with a creative lean, serving home-style Basque cooking that occasionally surprises. The baked octopus on potato parmentier is the one dish regulars tend to mention first.
