The best coffee shops in San Diego, according to the experts: Sprudge, The Infatuation, and US Coffee Championships have all weighed in, and their honors are what rank this list. Coffee Coffee comes out on top.
More Less
Monstra Coffee and Ironsmith Coffee Roasters hold the next two places. US Coffee Championships shows up on more of this list than any other guide, with Sprudge next.

A massive retro mural reading "Welcome to Leucadia" covers the outside wall, and honestly that sets the tone. Coffee Coffee is a casual coffee shop right on the 101, all big windows and easy light, with seating inside and out. The menu runs the usual espresso route plus an extensive tea list and light breakfast and lunch bites. Surf-town regulars and the unhurried crowd from nearby Bing Surfboards both seem equally at home here.

The roaster sits right behind the bar where you can watch it, which tells you most of what you need to know about this small-batch coffee shop on Coast Highway 101. The roll-up garage door, the metal finishes, and a few tables inside and out keep things tight and unhurried. The owner sources beans across Latin America and Africa and often pulls the shots himself. Old Woodys drifting past on the 101 supply the rest of the ambiance for free.
