    Tivoli is a slice shop and lunch spot in Fremont that refuses to stay in its lane, which is a compliment. The pizza lands somewhere between New York and Naples, and the caesar and focaccia sandwiches are legitimately good enough to carry the meal on their own. The room is bright and roomy, and the crowd is the kind of Fremont regulars who look pleased with themselves for knowing about it, which, fair enough.

    Wood-fired Pizza

    This wood-fired pizza spot on Beacon Hill has a James Beard Award for hospitality, which tracks, because the whole place feels genuinely warm rather than performative about it. The blistered crusts are the headline, but Roman street food, grilled octopus, and aperitivo cocktails make it hard to leave after one pie. The patio out back is a genuine find. Expect a wait, and expect the regulars to look completely unbothered about it.
