Rank 1. Lilac
Mediterranean
Glossy emerald-green tiles frame an open kitchen inside the Tampa EDITION, where John Fraser runs a plant-forward contemporary Mediterranean prix-fixe. The menu moves through a sequence of bites, small plates, and mains, leaning on seasonal vegetables without making a point of it. The wine list skews expensive. Lilac holds a Michelin star, a Forbes Four Star, and four AAA Diamonds, which together give a fair sense of how dinner is likely to go.

Roman & Williams brought their loft-luxe aesthetic to a 26-story tower in Tampa's Water Street district, and the result is an EDITION hotel that feels less like a Gulf Coast newcomer and more like a confident transplant from somewhere with stronger opinions about lobby design. Seven dining and drinking venues include some built for live performance, with menus overseen by John Fraser. A rooftop pool, a full-service spa, and a Forbes Four Star round out the picture.

Floor-to-ceiling windows frame views of Tampa Bay and Amalie Arena from every room in this 27-story hotel, which anchors the Water Street mixed-use development downtown. It's a full-service JW Marriott: modern and warm without tipping into excess, with a spa, resort-style pools, a rooftop bar that climbs high enough to see most of Tampa, and dining options ranging from a street-level window to a proper American bistro beside the pool.

Rank 6. The Pearl
Seafood
A pie-only dessert menu handled by a dedicated pastry chef is either a bold statement or a confession, and at The Pearl it reads as both. This Channelside seafood spot fills out a mixed-use building with a big, shareable American menu, raw and fried oysters, seafood towers, and fish and chips for when you're feeling sensible. The room mixes contemporary with maritime nostalgia, and the outdoor patio gets well-used in Tampa's approximately eleven months of decent weather.

Rank 9. Fabrica Pizza
Neapolitan Pizzeria
A Neapolitan-style pizza spot in central Tampa where the dough goes into a screaming-hot oven and comes out fast, blistered, and surprisingly light. The menu is short on purpose: a handful of starters, a tight selection of pies, and some desserts. Beer and wine on tap keep things casual and the bill manageable. It has landed on the 50 Top Pizza USA list, which is the sort of thing regulars probably mention while waiting for a table.

Rank 9. Noble Rice
Sushi
The à la carte menu is the point here, not the omakase counter tucked off to the side. This sushi spot in the Channelside dining cluster runs livelier than the usual minimalist Japanese room, mixing nigiri and creative maki with izakaya small plates and ramen for the table. The fish skews seasonal and sourced with care. It's a sister to Koya, and carries the same conviction that a fun room and serious sushi aren't mutually exclusive.

Rank 9. Predalina
Mediterranean
Mediterranean restaurant in Tampa's Channelside District, opened as a family tribute to a great-grandmother whose life traced a coastal arc from Brazil through Portugal to New England. The menu is broad: mezzes and salads at lunch, pastas and entrees at dinner, with the kitchen leaning toward the kind of shared-table eating where extra plates keep arriving. The room draws a downtown crowd that treats it equally well as a weekday lunch stop or a proper dinner out.
