    A former royal pewtersmith's workshop in Baixa-Chiado, now ten apartment-style suites where exposed architectural bones and décor that winks at the building's old trade sit alongside thoroughly contemporary comforts. Kitchenettes come standard, breakfast arrives from your hosts each morning, and then Lisbon takes over. Top-floor rooms get mezzanines and good light; lower floors get the street life of one of the city's liveliest neighborhoods sliding past the window.
