    A gold oval shell rising above Lake Davos is not the usual Alpine welcome, and the AlpenGold leans into that contrast throughout. This design-forward hotel swaps the traditional wood-paneled coziness for soft tones and floor-to-ceiling wraparound windows that make the mountain panorama unavoidable. Six restaurants and bars include a rooftop glass-tube raclette spot, and the 1,200 square meter spa runs in partnership with Swiss beauty brand Nescens.
