    Thai-inspired design on a manmade island in the Arabian Gulf sounds like a fever dream, but the lobby, all wood panels, cane chairs, and drifting floral scent, actually makes you forget you're in Dubai. That moment of confusion is the point. This Forbes Four Star resort on Palm Jumeirah has overwater villas, infinity and lagoon pools, seven dining venues, and an Anantara Spa that guests treat as a religion. The sea views keep the city at a comfortable distance.
