Chicken or mutton cooked for six-plus hours in desi ghee in an iron kadhai, served as what the shop simply calls "meat gravy," is the whole point of Ashok and Ashok. It's a no-frills dhaba tucked into a quieter lane of Sadar Bazaar, where the market otherwise sells steel pipes and apples. The mutton goes by noon most days, so arrive early or settle happily for the chicken, which comes with small corn-flour rotis scattered with green chiles and coriander.
