    The red-brick Beaux-Arts facade on Ocean Avenue is a reminder that the Jersey Shore once attracted people who traveled with steamer trunks. This hotel carries that old-money beach-town energy into rooms with plush linens and coastal textiles that manage to feel modern rather than nautical-themed. An outdoor pool with cabanas and a tiki bar gives you a reason to avoid the boardwalk, at least until early afternoon.
