Francis Ford Coppola found this stretch of Belizean rainforest because it reminded him of the jungle locations from Apocalypse Now, which says something about the landscape if not entirely about his vacation instincts. The upscale eco-lodge holds around twenty cabanas and villas, all rustic-luxe, where manicured gardens give way to actual wilderness. Days run toward Mayan ruins and rushing rivers; evenings come back to wood-fired pizza and wines from the Coppola estate.
