Five rooms and an apartment done in clean, modernist lines, steps from the medieval walls of Carcassonne. Bloc G is a small bed and breakfast run by the Gallinier sisters in the old Trivalle quarter, and the deliberately spare aesthetic reads as a counterpoint to all that dramatic stonework outside. The Michelin Guide has selected it, and Le Fooding lists it too. After a day inside a fortified city from the Middle Ages, the white walls feel like a deep breath.
