A metal fire-escape staircase is your only clue that a bar exists below Rathbone Place at all. Once you're down, the basement reveals itself as a cocktail bar styled like a parlour your grandmother would have thrown a very good party in: floral wallpaper, parquet floors, white-clothed tables. The whole thing sits ten tables deep, which keeps it intimate enough that nobody is performing for strangers.
