Alpacas are not llamas, and the owner of this family farm north of Phoenix will tell you so, cheerfully, before you've even met the herd. During cooler months, small groups can feed, pet, and walk the animals on a leash across the property. The alpacas tolerate photos with the patience of minor celebrities who have made peace with their fame. A casual, outdoor animal encounter, and a good excuse to finally learn the difference.
