A glass-enclosed terrace on the fifth floor of the Royal Opera House, with Covent Garden rooftops stretching out below, is as good a reason to book as the Italian menu. Angela Hartnett runs the kitchen here, and the cooking lands in the unfussy, flavour-forward register she's known for. The lunch menu is priced for a weekday habit, not a special occasion. Black tie optional, opera tickets not required.
