  1. Da Vittorio

    Contemporary Italian

The cheese trolley alone arrives like a small, slow ceremony, which tells you something about the pace of an evening at Da Vittorio. This is a three-Michelin-star fine dining restaurant outside Bergamo, run by the Cerea family with an ease that makes a twelve-course tasting menu feel like Sunday lunch at a very gifted relative's house. The cooking is rooted in Italian tradition, generous in spirit, and entirely uninterested in being cold or clever for its own sake.

    Two honors, in evidence:

    The record strongest first

One number, weighted & current 96

Eat Score

The score comes from the awards it's won, weighted by who gave them: a Michelin star outweighs a listicle. When you sort by what's nearby, distance changes the order, never the score.

          Best Place Score

The Best Place Score rates the area around a point, not any one place. It runs on the scored places nearby: more good stuff within reach, higher score. If it looks low, we probably haven't found enough critics out here yet.
