A working wildlife reserve that happens to have 23 cottages on it, Denis Private Island sits on a 375-acre coral atoll with its own airstrip, a century-old lighthouse, and giant tortoises a short bike ride from your veranda. The colonial-style villas are built with wood from a carpentry workshop on the island, and some have plunge pools. The Michelin Guide awarded it 2 Keys.
