A sea captain's Federal-style house from the colonial era, updated into a boutique bed and breakfast that somehow manages to feel neither musty nor try-hard. Rooms spread across the main house, a Victorian addition, and an old carriage house, mixing period bones with contemporary fittings. The saltwater pool and terrace are genuinely pleasant, breakfast is included, and Commercial Street is a block away when the charm of the place wears off, which takes a while.
